Bangladesh Garments Forecast
Revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2024-2029) of 11.48%, resulting in a projected market volume of US$408.60m by 2029.
With a projected market volume of US$139.80bn in 2024, most revenue is generated in China.
In the Apparel Market, the number of users is expected to amount to 2.4m users by 2029.

Multi Fiber Arrangement (MFA) Implementation
The MFA was established, setting quotas on garment exports from newly industrializing countries. Bangladesh benefited from quota-free access, paving the way for its emerging ready-made garment (RMG) sector.
Pioneering Joint Venture
On December 27, Desh Garments Ltd. partnered with Daewoo of South Korea, marking Bangladesh's first export-oriented RMG industry. This collaboration laid the foundation for future growth in the sector.
New Industrial Policy (NPI) Introduction
The government introduced the NPI, denationalizing many textile industries, creating export processing zones (EPZs), and encouraging foreign investment, significantly boosting the RMG sector.
Post-MFA Growth
Despite concerns about increased competition after the MFA phase-out, Bangladesh's RMG industry continued to thrive, with exports reaching approximately US$10.7 billion by 2007.
